FINALLY ITS MY HOLIDAY!
Its been such a long time since i had my holiday...eversince...hmm..i cant recall...
Niwea..its 2 weeks holiday..so i better use the time wisely before i enter my attachment in april. And getting an attachment in Temasek Design School isnt as easy as you thought. Especially when the cohort mostly comes from the Dragon Year.
So yeah...some or i can say most of my frens in TDS having much problems in finding a suitable design jobs.. All the best to u dudes and dudettes! Im quite happy for those who get a job that they are particular interested in. Like one of my TDS frens...she got Ikea..lucky gal! And she be doing visual merchandising stuffs.. There are alot of vacancies offered..simply u have to open ur eyes big big and see. I did tot of tryin to do ikea..but then..i myself visit them like..erm..once in every 2-3 years.. So..in other words..im not an ikea fan..but i do like to try and test and play ard the children sector and the lightings. Hehe.. On/Off switch!
Well...there are other cool design companies like Zouk..darn.. But i cant go for interview there...wat if they ask me.."Have u been to Zouk?"...like duh..No. Thus, no point getting the coolest job..or an easy job if u dont even know the company or have any interest.
There was a time when all of us are busy hunting..my hopes were falling short. Until a friend told me that she's sure there be a WOW job for me. She heightened my spirit somehow. Guess wat she said is rather true. I chance upon a company...a company who manufactures engineering goods..and wanna hav an intern...to do perfume and specs?! Weird but true. I went to search for other companies..but somehow..dat particular company is calling out my name. Calling me to send my CV and resume to them. Calling, "Azizah..Azizah..take me! take me!". And i did.
Furthermore..the company situated at woodlands. And i dont see any other company that is sooo near to my home. Why not give it a try. Since i have a gd gut feeling that tis company wanna do sumthin related to product design..and i kinda like their humble mission.
My first interview. And on the day itself, they called me and said im hired.
Syukur alhamdulilah.
To my peeps who are lookin for jobs..whether its attachment or part time/full time job...
Be humble, speak honestly-confidently and have pride in ur work.
I think this phrase suits for most stuffs..like during ur crits..presentations..etc..and not juz interviews. Coz i firmly believed that when u possess the confidence in urself..others will be confident of what ur doing and most likely be hiring/accepting u.
But of course..do it with ikhlas...if u get wat i mean.
